Cancellation and Tardiness Policies
UpSkill Tutoring is dedicated to providing the best, most affordable service possible.
In order to do so, we have created the following cancellation and tardiness policies. These policies are designed to ensure our session times are maintained and to keep rates affordable .
Cancellation Policy
In an effort to respect both Client’s and Tutor’s time, the following policy has been issued.
-
Tutor will email Client the next month’s schedule by the end of the current month. Client should let Tutor know of any schedule changes by the first of the month to avoid cancellation fees. If Client does not propose any schedule changes by the first (1st) of the month, Tutor will assume no changes need to be made.
-
When canceling a session, an alternate session will be proposed by Tutor in order to avoid charging Client a cancellation fee. If Client meets for a make-up session, no cancellation fee will be applied. If Client is unable to meet during the proposed time, the following policy will take effect:
-
If the notification is made less than forty-eight (48) hours in advance, but greater than twenty-four (24) hours in advance, Tutor reserves the right to charge a fee equal to 50% of the cost of the lesson.
-
If the notification is made less than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled start, Tutor reserves the right to charge for the cost of the entire lesson.
-
Prepaying Clients will have cancellation fees deducted from their positive balance. Clients who do not have a positive balance, or who pay weekly, will have cancellation fees added to their next invoice.
-
If multiple cancellations are made, even with ample notice, Client’s session slot may be moved to a less demanded time.
In the event of inclement weather, Tutor will post any closings on their website: www.UpSkillTutoring.com. Tutor will also email and/or text all clients scheduled for that day.
In the event of an emergency, Tutor reserves the right to cancel or change sessions with as much notice as possible. If a session is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled in a reasonable timeframe, Client will not be charged for that session.
Tardiness Policy
Client must notify Tutor of tardiness at least six (6) hours in advance. Students may not be more than thirty (30) minutes tardy. Otherwise, the lesson will be treated as cancelled. UpSkill Tutoring LLC reserves the right to charge for any time waiting for the client.
-
If the notification of tardiness is made at least six (6) hours in advance, reasonable efforts will be made in order to have a lesson of the originally scheduled length and no fees will be charged.
-
UpSkill Tutoring LLC reserves the right to charge a lesson as if it started at the originally scheduled time for any other notification of tardiness.
-
If no notification of tardiness is made, UpSkill Tutoring LLC will wait up to fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled lesson start for the client to arrive. If the client has not arrived after this waiting period, UpSkill Tutoring LLC will deem the lesson “missed” and will charge a fee equal to 100% of the scheduled lesson cost.
Pre-paying clients will have any cancellation/tardiness fees deducted from their remaining balance.
Clients who pay per session will have fees added to their next session's invoice.
All cancellation and tardiness notices must be made in writing.
The easiest way to do this is via email or text message.
